Just Maybe

Just Maybe

Maybe I was never the problem. I was just too easy. I declared myself as the black sheep and was eager for validations. Everyone had to say something nice about me because it is who I am.

Maybe they never saw me the way I saw myself. Perhaps my goodness boiled anger in them and suffocated their peace. Even my warm echo of welcome did justice to the hate against me.

Maybe I was unsure and doubted for too long. I couldn't believe they would be against me. What are friends for? They have my back all the time. We have history.

Maybe I was too quick to trust. Everyone keeps asking if I never saw it coming. I never did. The betrayal was a ticking bomb I never thought would explode.

Maybe, just maybe I was too good or just a conicidental maybe.
